Nick braves the winds at the Sharpie Nationals

27/06/12 01:31

EYH tenant, Nick Gates from Classic Yacht Services competed in the Sharpie Nationals at the weekend. Boats from Holland, Germany, Norfolk and Bosham raced in six races on Saturday and Sunday 23/24th June.  The boats sailed in a challenging force 5 to 7, many capsizing or retiring due to gear failure. Although Nick's Sharpie is used mainly for "cruising" and trips to East Head, it managed a respectable 15th position out of 30 entries. Its saving grace was being the only boat there which could reef!  Pictures of the event are on the Bosham Sailing Club website.
